Corporate Responsibility

  • 2011 - 2012 DINOFLEX® receives the 'Climate Smart' seal. In order to successfully complete the program, DINOFLEX® was required to complete a greenhouse gas emissions inventory and submit a list of reductions strategies.
  • 2011 - DINOFLEX® is an active member in a "LEAN Corporation" Consortium - all employees have gone through and continue to receive training for "continuous improvement" to minmize waste and create efficient processes that add value to our employees and customers.
  • 2010 - DINOFLEX® participated in the "PULL AHEAD BC" Government sponsored program - utilizing techniques to minimize waste within our facility and processes.
  • Exchanged older fluorescent lighting with energy saving lighting throughout the entire manufacturing plant, warehouse and office.
  • Eliminated the use of a high BTU boiler, which caused carbon monoxide emissions, with the use of clean electrical energy.
  • The front grass area was replaced by our recycled rubber tiles, which not only saves water but also eliminates the use of fertilizers and herbicides.
  • DINOFLEX® offices are furnished with recycled rubber flooring.
  • DINOFLEX® workstations in the factory have rubber flooring to provide an anti-fatigue, ergonomically friendly surface for our factory employees.
  • DINOFLEX® does not dispose of any rubber waste into landfill sites. Instead, we collect all rubber scraps, waste, seconds, etc. and regrind them for use in our other products.
  • In 1993, we converted to a MDI based polyurethane binder that does not omit any VOC’s into the environment nor contain any heavy metals or solvents. It cures by using air moisture as a catalyst.
  • Internally, we recycle most of our office paper in the photocopier or for note pads. By using e-mail rather than fax and mail, we have reduced our use of paper by about 75%.
  • All employees participate in our in-house recycling program by using our collection areas for pop cans, glass, plastic bags, glossy magazines, telephone books, steel drums and other metal scraps so we can transport to recyclers or the recycling depot.
  • Our manufacturing processes do not pollute the air, ground or water.

ENVIRONMENTALLY PREFERABLE MATERIALS: TRANSPORTATION

  • DINOFLEX® has recently converted to bulk truck delivery of recycled rubber eliminating the use of plastic bags in the delivery process.
  • DINOFLEX® products are not individually wrapped or packaged in small units. Instead, tile products are packaged in bulk form and stacked on wooden pallets.
  • In 1997, DINOFLEX® bought an automatic shrink-wrapping machine, which cut the use of shrink-wrap by 25%. The type of shrink-wrap used is recyclable.
  • DINOFLEX® purchases as many recycled and/or repaired wooden pallets for transporting finished goods as suppliers have available. Any broken pallets are given to local pallet manufacturers for repair.
  • DINOFLEX® re-uses plastic packaging materials whenever possible, for example, large plastic bags that are used for protecting finished product inventory during storage.
